My ever so lovely partner surprised me with a trip to Whitby last month, just before Halloween it was magical, cold but magical.
I’d thought I’d share a couple of snaps from the weekend because I feel like Whitby is one of the most photographic places ever, not to mention we went up to the abbey when it was illuminated and it was absolutely breath taking.
The first day we arrived which took forever may I add because we got on a coastliner bus which had incredible views but took the longest route possible to Whitby, we arrived around 2 and instantly checked into our hotel which was right next to the sea and from our hotel you could see the abbey and church.
It was breath taking and we went on a stroll along the seafront and stopped for food at a lovely diner that had the most yummy milkshakes and veggie chilli dogs which were too big for me to finish, after that we headed up to the abbey to see the lights, Whitby has a hell of a lot of stairs I’ll tell you that.
It was £20 for both me and Dylan and I was confused at first why it was so pricey to see the abbey lit up, but it was a whole show. After walking around the abbey and taking it all in, in all it’s glory we walked down to watch the author of Dracula talk about his novel and watched the performance of Dracula it was funny and a great show but stood on top of a cliff in the cold and wind it got the better of me so we headed home.
Day two was still cold but a hell of a lot more windy! We wrapped up warm and after a lovely full English veggie breakfast, we headed straight to the beach where we saw SO many dogs honestly Whitby is a dog town and I loved it. We spent the day shopping buying gifts for our loved ones Whitby has the most incredible shops and small businesses are a running theme which I was happy to see, we headed for a lunch on the seafront at a little cafe it was lovely.
After lunch we headed to see the local amusements we ended up playing mini golf obviously Dylan won because I was terrible at it but it was still a lot of fun, after accepting defeat on mini goth I headed home to watch bake off.
Wednesday our final morning in Whitby we walked along the seafront with ice creams as it was a beautiful sunny morning, Whitby is the most magical place with the nicest people I’d love to return in the summer time.
